Green light for Bank Chambers revamp

PLANNERS have given the green light for the transformation of the ground floor and basement of Stockport’s iconic Grade II listed Bank Chambers.

The work will see it become home to the town centre’s first dedicated co-working space called ProFolk.

Once work is completed the centre, on the corner of Market Place and St Petersgate, will provide seven private offices and 20 co-working desks.

There will also be large space for meetings and events, plus breakout and relaxation space, a bike store, showers and lockers.

Work has already begun on site, with ProFolk scheduled to open its doors in the summer.

Commercial property company Hall & Co Property has secured the planning permission for the project.
