The annual Vernon Building Society Community Awards is open for applications to local Stockport not-for-profit groups!

Over 7 years the Awards has donated over £70,000 to worthy causes throughout the local community. Previous winners include Stockport County Community Foundation, Beechwood Cancer Care and Millie's Trust.

This year the Vernon are again offering £10,000 to local not-for-profit organisations who dedicate themselves to supporting the local Stockport community. Applications opened on the 1st July 2019 and will run until 17th August.

Once applications have been received, 14 organisations will be shortlisted as finalists in the Community awards. Finalists will be awarded a minimum of £250 to a maximum of £1,500!

Stockport County Community Foundation's Adrian Rigby-Bates said: "We as a charity, were delighted to have been chosen as one of the 14 finalists taking place in the voting for the 2018 Community Awards which has not only helped to raise invaluable funds for our Mental Health Football and Multisport Project but also helped build awareness about the good work that we do."
