Another Boost Announced for Community Projects in Stockport

If you recently applied to Stockport Local Fund, you'll now know the outcome of your application. This local community fund is a part of Stockport Local, a way of working with communities that provides people with the support they need to build inclusive, resilient and thriving communities.

Councillor Amanda Peers, Cabinet Member for Inclusive Neighbourhoods said: "I am very proud of how we are investing in our communities and voluntary sector in Stockport. Our teams have engaged more and listened hard to the needs and aspirations of our citizens encouraging and enabling new, exciting and often transformational projects and initiatives to move forward, empowering communities, individuals and businesses to be part of the positive vibe that is currently running through the borough.

"It's not just the fund that is making a difference. Our wider Stockport Local ambition includes bringing the business, voluntary and public sectors closer together, offering training opportunities, support and guidance and making it easy to find out what's happening and how you can join in through our Stockport Local online community directory."

Again, we had a great response from the community with 121 applications received from a diverse range of groups across Stockport. Successful applicants who applied for under £500 will receive their funding over the next few weeks. Those who applied for more than £500, whose ideas passed the first stage of the application process, now need to tell us more about their idea so we can make our final funding decisions.

Although this application window has now closed, the fund will be back supporting more ideas in November and we will be offering workshops in September and October to help you to apply. If you are already registered for email updates, we will send you the key dates. If now, why not sign up now at: www.stockport.gov.uk/slf.
