If you recently applied to Stockport Local Fund, you’ll now know the outcome of your application. This local community fund is a part of Stockport Local, a way of working that puts residents at the heart of everything we do.

Councillor Amanda Peers, Cabinet Member for Inclusive Neighbourhoods said: "In this round it has been great to see organisations and ideas evolving and collaborations between communities and statutory partners.

"Collaboration is a key element of Stockport Local as we strive to build connections with and between communities. I would encourage anyone who wants to become more connected to the wider community to visit our Stockport Local Directory or join one of our up-coming Sector Connector events bringing the voluntary, community, public and business sectors together. The partnerships emerging in Stockport are so important to ensuring our voluntary and community sector can thrive."

Again, we had a great response from the community with 112 applications received from a diverse range of groups, individuals and organisations across Stockport. Successful applicants who applied for under £500 will receive their funding over the next few weeks. Those who applied for more than £500, whose ideas passed the first stage of the application process, now need to tell us more about their idea so we can make our final funding decisions.

Although this application window has now closed, the fund will be back supporting more ideas later in the spring. If you are already registered for email updates, we will send you the key dates. If not, why not sign up now on Stockport Council's web-pages.

If you want to find out more about local groups and activities in your community, look at Stockport Local, an online community directory.
