Staff at Borough Care’s Lisburne Court home for older people in Offerton are collecting food for the Stockport Foodbank.

The foodbank operation is based at St Phillip’s Catholic Primary School in Offerton.

Joanne Sherratt, activity lifestyle facilitator at Lisburne Court, said: “We know lots of people in our community are struggling financially, due to the coronavirus pandemic, and are unable to buy the food they need.

“Eating well is a major part of keeping healthy, which is particularly important at the moment, and we want to do our bit to help.

“Some of our residents have been helping sort the food we have received and have really enjoyed getting involved.

“So far, we have taken food donated by our staff and residents’ families but would love the local community to help too.”

If people would like to donate food items to the Stockport Foodbank, they can leave them in the box provided at the front of Lisburne Court on Alfreton Road in Offerton.
