#Stockport based female a cappella chorus spent 2018 supporting a local foodbank and provided 1100 meals to people who would have otherwise gone hungry over that time.
Crystal Chords ladies harmony chorus are a group of over 40 women who sing in 4 part harmony barbershop style. Rehearsing weekly, they compete locally and nationally. The chorus select an annual charity to support and in 2018 chose local charity Stockport foodbank which is part of the The Trussell Trust national foodbank network.

The chorus collected tinned food donations from members every month and in December took part in the charity’s ‘Reverse Advent’ initiative where an item is given each day. The final donations were taken to the foodbank and handed over to Nigel Tedford, Project Manager at the foodbank before Christmas so they could be distributed to those in need.

Crystal Chords - Greater Manchester Ladies Barbershop Harmony ChorusCharity Coordinator, Pat Gregory said: “As a chorus of local women of varying ages and backgrounds, it’s important to us that we pick a charity that resonates with our members and Stockport foodbank do excellent work in conjunction with local services to provide food to those who would otherwise go without. The chorus were humbled by the work that takes place there and very happy to donate to this worthy cause regularly over the year”.

Crystal Chords will be running a ‘Love to Sing’ course over 5 weeks starting January 10th 2019 and will be welcoming any ladies who enjoy singing and performing in an a capella style and would like to join the chorus for a free taster.
