PAREA GOES PAN ASIAN!

I was invited to do a review of Parea’s new Pan Asian menu. Based in the centre of Alderley Edge, Parea has enjoyed unprecedented success since their opening in 2018.

 

Not content to rest on their laurels they have they have teamed up with Zumu, who are the leaders in high end Pan Asian cuisine. This is a brilliant move because their original menu was similar to a number of other dining options in the village and now, they have become unique by being the only venue offering this amazing cuisine.

 

The menu offers a huge range of fabulous dishes which will satisfy the most discerning palates and the prices are exceptional.

 

David looked after us brilliantly giving detailed descriptions on the different options. Once we had selected our choices, he insisted that we combine these with a number of the chef’s recommendations. We were not disappointed!

 

It would be impossible for me to describe every dish we were given because they were so many.

I started with the Sushi Taco, fresh salmon & tuna tacos with avocado salsa & truffle mayo. I was swimming in unchartered waters with this dish and I would certainly dive in again - it certainly had the wow factor! My partner Gayle sampled the Chicken Gyoza, dumplings filled with minced chicken – truly excellent was the verdict!

            

The main courses are quite simply mind boggling with a vast range of amazing options. I couldn’t resist the King Prawns Thai holy Basil The flavours fused brilliantly, and the prawns were enormous – well recommended! Gayle selected the Miso Black Cod, 140g of buttery black cod marinated in a salty-sweet miso until silky and slow grilled over flame with a side dish of tender stem broccoli. Her verdict - “The black cod was cooked to perfection with an amazing mix of flavours - a totally new experience”

 

Those were our choices but David’s insistence on trying some of the chef’s recommendations was the icing on the cake. Honey Ribs, Kataifi Prawns, Suzuki Seabass, Shake Salmon, Maguro Tuna – fabulous is a description I rarely use but I have to with all these dishes.

 

The drinks menu was excellent with a wide range of cocktails and wicked wines at prices far below the norm. we enjoyed a superb New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc which was the perfect match.

 

Parea have certainly smashed it with this new development with Zumu and I cannot recommend it enough. Lovers of Pan Asian food will relish what they have to offer and those of you who have not experienced this type of cuisine before, you are really missing something special.
