LAST season Stockport County fans, the Supporters Co-operative and Help the Hatters groups raised around £5,200 to purchase community tickets.

This enabled County to invite 2,600 youngsters and their families to watch a live game at Edgeley Park free of charge.

This included 35 junior football clubs and 11 community groups. Many visited Edgeley Park for the first time and witnessed some incredible games as County were crowned National League North Champions.

A club spokesman said: “We have received some fantastic feedback from junior football clubs and community groups. Many youngsters and their families have returned as paying customers – a few have even purchased season tickets.

“The community ticket scheme is playing a key role in helping build County’s fanbase for the future.

“This initiative helped County set the record attendance for a league game in the National League North, which stands at 6,311 against Spennymoor”.

The club has now launched the scheme for the 2019- 2020 season and is aksing supporters to donate and make the scheme a success.

They can play their role by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/john-giles

The club spokesman added: “If you would like any free tickets for your junior football team or community group, please email Simon Dawson at simon.dawson@stockportcounty.com.”
