Every parent wants the reassurance that when it's time to go to secondary school, their children will be welcomed into a caring, nurturing environment and given every chance at success. Local co-educational grammar school Hulme Hall offers just that, with inclusive admissions that look at each child's potential, rather than just their grades.

At Hulme Hall, caring for the individual has been the overarching philosophy since the school was established back in 1928. With the core values of caring, nurturing and achieving, the school recognises every child's uniqueness and ensures that all pupils have the opportunity to achieve their potential both inside and outside the classroom.

The ongoing Covid pandemic has presented challenges for children's learning nationwide, with the disruption of lockdowns and switching to home learning meaning that many school pupils will have struggled over the last year or so. For children who have fallen behind, Hulme Hall is offering a solution to help pupils get back on track.

In recognition of the difficulties many pupils are now facing, the school has created an affordable, two-year GCSE pathway for teenagers who need that bit of extra support to achieve what they're capable of.

Pupils are invited to move across to Hulme Hall for the start of Year 10, benefitting from the small class sizes and excellent tuition the school is so well known for. A couple of years later, pupils will sit their GCSEs at the school, giving parents the peace of mind that their children are getting the very best chance at success.

A comparatively small grammar school, Hulme Hall prides itself on shaping pupils to be the best they can be hard-working, honest, tolerant and respectful of themselves and others. Small class sizes ensure that every student receives the individual care and attention they deserve and fosters a spirit of camaraderie and reciprocal care among the pupils.

Unlike many other grammar schools, Hulme Hall doesn't select only the highest performing pupils. The school values diversity and makes choices based on each child's strengths and an overview of their learning. In the same vein, while the results pupils achieve are important, the school places greater emphasis on getting the best out of every student according to their unique abilities.

Parents who want to find out more about the special GCSE pathway are invited to attend an information evening on Thursday March 24th from 5:30pm to 8pm. It's easy to book - just head over to the website and select the event headed 'GCSE Pathway Evening (Year 9)'.

It's also almost time for Hulme Hall's next secondary assessment day for children moving up to high school in September 2022.

There are limited places left for the assessment day on Friday January 21st - it's just £30 to sit the Cat4 test and the day will run from 9:30am until 3pm, including a yummy lunch cooked from scratch by the three talented in-house cooks!

Parents of children currently in Year 6 who would like to get to know the school better are welcome to visit and get to know the school and staff - just call to make arrangements on 0161 485 3524 or register your interest by booking online.
