Supportability, a local charity that helps disabled people to live independently in Stockport were delighted to receive a donation of £14,505 from the Morrisons Foundation.
The funding boost will help the charity to install ceiling track hoists which will help people with disabilities to be moved by the specialist staff at the facility in a safe and dignified way. The hoists reduce the amount of manual handling the charity's staff have to do and make their jobs easier and safer.
Geraint Hughes, Deputy Chief Executive at Supportability said: "We're absolutely delighted the receive the generous grant from the Morrisons Foundation, which will fund the essential replacement ceiling track hoist system for Cheadle Lodge our Residential Care Home."
"This is a much-needed piece of new equipment, which will enable us to move our residents in a way that's both safe and comfortable for them and our care staff. At Cheadle Lodge we provide care for people with the most complex disabilities who need round the clock support and this equipment will be used regularly."
"As a charity in the social care sector, we rely heavily on donations such as these to fund essential equipment for our disability services, and we're extremely grateful to the Morrisons Foundation for their ongoing generosity and support, having previously funded a range of equipment for our specialist day centre for disabled adults."
Adrian Horsley, Morrisons Foundation Advisor said: "I'm really pleased that through the Morrisons Foundation we were able to help Supportability fund essential equipment in their residential care home. Knowing our support will make a big difference to the residents and the staff at Cheadle Lodge makes me very proud. Helping local charities is at the heart of what the Foundation is all about and I'm so happy that we can provide this grant."
