A STOCKPORT schoolgirl was left beaming with pride as her artwork was unveiled on the side of a National Express coach after she won a nationwide drawing competition.

Izzy Perry, 12, was picked as the winner of National Express’s Colour the Coach competition in the North after her poster encouraging people to come to Stockport won an online poll.

Her design can now be seen on the side of the coach carrying passengers to and from the town.

Colour the Coach is National Express’s annual nationwide art competition which this year asked kids aged fvie-15 to draw a poster to advertise their home towns.

Izzy, who studies at Priestnall Secondary School, drew a design to encourage people to visit Stockport Town Centre which features The Plaza.

Now, Izzy’s fantastic design is on display as a moving billboard on the side of a National Express Coach.

It will be seen by thousands of people as the coach carries passengers up and down the country going to and from the North.

Izzy, pictured, who lives in Stockport with her parents Tony and Charlotte and her younger sister Tilda said: “I included a few of the great things about Stockport but there’s lots of great things to do here. I’ve loved seeing my design on the coach.”

Her headteacher John Cregg said: “All the pupils and staff at the school are so proud of Izzy.

“I was lucky enough to see her artwork on the coach and it looks fantastic. Izzy is a really talented young artist and we hope her beautiful artwork will encourage people to visit Stockport.”
