WORKERS dedicated to caring for others were encouraged to take him to care for themselves at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust's staff health and wellbeing day.

Nursing, medical, pharmacist administration and many other staff took part in a range of activities dedicated to promoting health and wellbeing.

The day offered blood pressure and other health checks as well as relaxation therapy taster sessions and a whole range of advice on exercise, counselling, healthy eating, and help to reduce alcohol intake and stop smoking.

Partners including Life Leisure and Stockport MIND were on hand to offer additional advice on both physical and mental wellbeing, while union Unison was present with information of staff rights and welfare.

Greg Moores, director of workforce and organisational development at the trust, said: "Our staff are fantastic and work incredibly hard taking care of our patients, but it is important they take care of themselves too.

"This was about sharing with our staff the many ways we can help and support in looking after their health, and their physical and mental wellbeing."
